The Berlin Process Summit has officially introduced a new visual identity, created by a talented team of six young designers from the Western Balkans. Selected through a public call by the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO) in partnership with the German Federal Foreign Office in June this year, the young designers have worked together to create a logo that will now serve as the permanent visual symbol for this prestigious event, which annually gathers leaders from the Western Balkans, the European Union, and EU institutions.
The team behind the new logo includes Alkid Shuli from Albania, Rreze Guri from Kosovo, Amila Redžić from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lana Klenak from Montenegro, Bojan Budjarovski from North Macedonia, and Milana Ružić from Serbia, under the creative mentorship of experienced Creative Director Fisnik Ismaili.
The public will have the opportunity to see the new logo at the Berlin Process Summit, scheduled to take place in Berlin this October, as well as at other Berlin Process events such as ministerial meetings, RYCO’s Youth Forum, and various other meetings within this platform for cooperation between the Western Balkans and the EU.
This initiative for a permanent logo comes as part of the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of the Berlin Process, which was officially established in 2014 as a model to promote cooperation and support for the Western Balkans’ path to EU integration. Over the years, the Berlin Process has evolved, encompassing the Summit as its flagship event, as well as ministerial meetings, forums, and numerous other activities.
Since 2021, RYCO has organized annual public competitions to select the Summit logo, with individual winners recognized for their visual designs. This year’s team effort in creating a permanent visual identity adds significant value and strengthens regional cooperation within the Western Balkans. Six young designers from the Western Balkans have embarked on an exciting mission to create the permanent logo for the Berlin Process Summit. Previously, the logo was designed annually, but this year marks the shift towards a permanent design. Chosen from over 70 applicants, the team is guided by renowned Creative Director Fisnik Ismaili. The designers participated in an inspiring workshop, embracing the philosophy that "in design, thinking wrong is right." Over the next weeks, they will refine their designs for presentation to the selection committee, including German representatives.
