Perišić: Spajić and Merz to open Berlin Process Summit on 22 October in Sveti Stefan
The Berlin Process Leaders’ Summit will be held on 21 and 22 October in Sveti Stefan, as decided at a session of the Government of Montenegro.
The event is a high-level gathering that will mark the culmination of Montenegro’s Presidency and bring together leaders of the Western Balkans, representatives of Berlin Process participating states, senior officials of the European Union and international organisations.
The Leaders’ Summit is scheduled to be opened by Milojko Spajić, Prime Minister of Montenegro, and Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.
In addition, as Montenegro’s Presidency draws to a close, the country will host a number of high-level meetings.
Today, 18 September, ministers responsible for environmental protection from the region and Berlin Process participating states will gather in Žabljak. Podgorica will host Youth Ministerial Meeting on 22 and 23 September, while economy ministers will convene for a Ministerial Meeting in Cetinje on 30 September. The following day, Budva will host Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, while Roma Ministerial Meeting will be held in Podgorica on 8 October.
On 13 and 14 October, the Minister of Public Administration will host counterparts as part of the Digital Summit, while the 10th Berlin Process Joint Science Conference, to be attended by the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, will take place in Podgorica from 12 to 14 October.
Following the EU–Western Balkans Summit held in June this year, Montenegro will once again bring together leaders from the region and EU countries and host a high-level event, thereby reaffirming the readiness of the administration and the state as a whole to meet the highest standards and contribute to decision-making processes that foster further European integration of the region.
