The Prishtina Agenda 2026 presents the principal conclusions and policy recommendations emerging from the 26th Agricultural Policy Forum (APF), held on 3–4 June 2026 in Prishtina, Kosovo.
Under the theme “Agricultural Policy Coherence in South-East Europe: EU Integration Dynamics, Institutional Reforms and Climate Adaptation,” the Forum was jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development of Kosovo and the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South-East Europe.
The event brought together more than 110 representatives from 14 European countries, including policymakers, government officials, experts, international organizations, and development partners.
Platform for Regional Dialogue and Cooperation: The Forum served as a key platform for policy dialogue, knowledge exchange, and regional cooperation. Participants reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing sustainable, resilient, and inclusive agriculture and rural development throughout South-East Europe.
Discussions focused on several strategic themes, including:
- EU integration and the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP);
- Climate change adaptation and resilience;
- Biodiversity conservation and sustainable forestry;
- Integrated landscape fire management;
- Generational renewal in agriculture;
- Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS);
- Food security preparedness and crisis response;
- Sustainable viticulture and wine sector development;
- Regional policy cooperation within the framework of the Berlin Process.
The Prishtina Agenda 2026 outlines a common vision and policy direction for agriculture, forestry, and rural development across South-East Europe.
The document reaffirms the European integration process as the primary framework for agricultural and rural development reforms. It calls for strengthened institutional capacities, enhanced policy coherence, and closer regional cooperation to address emerging challenges and opportunities.
The Prishtina Agenda 2026 will be formally presented at the 20th Annual Working Meeting of Ministers of Agriculture from South-East Europe, scheduled to take place on 30 September 2026 in Serbia.
